Generate your own Favicon

Does anyone notice that there is a new icon in the address bar of your browser next to URL of my site? Yes, that's called favicon.

I am sure you know that many sites have this icon that represent the companies' brand or personal interest. For example, it would be a "B" icon in blogger.com and "Y!" icon in yahoo.com. Hence, I also make one favicon of "@" representing Adsense Hut.

In this post, I am going to share this tips with you on how to make this favicon in your site, make your site looks more professional. You can immediately try this trick after reading this tips and finish within 3 minutes.

- First, select one favorable tiny picture

- Go to http://www.htmlkit.com/services/favicon/

- Upload your picture in the space provided

- You can then download the favicon.ico zip file, and upload it to the web.

-Also, you have to insert a tiny portion of HTML command into the source of your website according to the instruction included in the zip file

Favicon did not work out for me - IE showed the Progress Bar, it went on up to 100% too. I spent the next about 5 minutes staring at the blank screen. No file to download, no instructions/ HTML Code!!

Hi Welloiledpc,

You can upload a picture in the HTML I mentioned, and follow the instruction provided.

There is also a favicon checker to check whether the favicon works in your site.
