One of the important concepts in SEO is to get as many inbound (backlink) links to your site as possible. This is also called the Off-Page Optimization (You can also read here on my post on how to do the On-Page Optimization). Most often, the off-page optimization is the most difficult part to handle with, since it is difficult to ask someone to put a back link on a page that does not belong to yours.

One of the common way to get back links to your site is to submit your sites to various web directories (or blog directories too if you are using blog). I too operate a web directory where it is FREE to get listed. With that said, many of these directories have both a high Page Rank AND are old websites, giving them more authority and power in the search engines.

Not only that, but there are literally thousands of website directories on the internet that are absolutely free for you to submit your website to! While it does take time to find these directories and then manually fill out all of the required criteria to submit your website, it is an excellent way to help increase your search engine rankings.

However, since this kind of submissions is done manually and one-by-one, it is very tiresome and time-consuming. There are some good website directory submission software products on the market. The best of which is a product called Directory Submitter created by Brad Callen. Essentially you simply enter your website details into the software program 1 time, and then click on any of the 1600+ website directories in the software and it will automatically fill in all of the submission criteria for you. Click the submit button and then your site has been instantly added to the website directory.

So, not only does it save you time in finding all of these directories, BUT it saves you an incredible amount of time filling out each and every website's submission criteria.

I can understand that you are trying to protect your contents from illegal copy, but would you consider to make the links open in new page?

What links do you want to make them to open in a new page? Well, many people think if a site has its pages to open in a new window, the site is pretty much like a scam or rubbish. That's the thing that I want to avoid. But, I am really interested in your suggestion. Please specify which links you are talking about.

You are 100% right, you may be bother your visitors by this, but I think its fare to make links to other websites open in new window. Also, you may provide an option to open the internal links in new or same window, then the user will decide! Believe me; you will help your visitor as well as your self when you solve it!

You are welcome. For the links, I will seriously consider your suggestion. However, providing a option for visitors to open the link in the same or new window at the same time is a technical problem to me. I hope I will find that solution from the web in the future.
