Three Link Units Allowed

When I went and visited the Adsense blog earlier this morning, I noticed there is a new amendment on the program policies. Originally, all Adsense publishers are allowed to display one link unit, and Google would ignore the rest of the code, even if you had implemented. But now, you are allowed to display three link units per page. That mean, from now on, you can have 3 Adsense for Content units, 3 link units, 2 search boxes.

Personally, I think one link unit is not enough, but three seems to be a little bit more. Anyway, I am glad to hear this great news. You should spare some time in redesigning the layout of the page, try to figure out whether there are places to accommodate one or two more link units, which is a good source of clicks, at least in my case.

Hi,

Yes, you are totally correct. In addition to those 6 adsens units, you can even have 2 Adsense for Search boxes.

Hmmm, while the "Programme Policies" say exactly the above, the actual pages to cerate the AdSense HTML code (https://www.google.com/adsense/code) still says "Google AdSense programme policies allow you to place up to three ad units and one link unit on any page." I suppose that the "Programme Policies" take precedence?

Hi,

You are right. Obviously, it is a big mistake made by Google. They have offically announced this three-link-units policies, but they forget to make the corresponding changes of text in the Adsense Setup page in Adsense accounts.

Previously, if you have implemented more than 1 link units code, only the first code will display the link unit, and the rest will be ignored. As you can find from my site, I am now displaying two link units.

Yes, you can do so, since the Adsense for Search unit does not require content to function.
